An asteroid up to 16.4 feet in diameter exploded over the Island of Puerto Rico. It was confirmed that the small meteor was visible across the entire island.
The Caribbean Astronomical Society reports:
Shocking images captured from the island show the moment when much of a space rock disintegrated over the skies of Puerto Rico on Wednesday night. "It happened at 11:28 p.m. and reports confirm that it was visible from all over the island," said the Caribbean Astronomical Society (SAC).
The educational entity said that both the videos obtained as well as images captured by NOAA's GOES 16 satellite allow to establish a preliminary estimate as to the size of the rock, which is estimated to be between 1 to 5 meters (3.3 to 16.4 feet) in diameter.
While the colors that the dazzling meteor showed, suggests it was a space rock with Sodium among other minerals, a content similar to that of the huge meteor that penetrated the skies of Chelyabinsk in Russia in February 2013.
"The detection of the meteor by the GOES 16 satellite suggests that the explosion of the meteor upon impacting the atmosphere occurred about 20 to 25 miles north of the town of Quebradillas, on the waters of the Atlantic Ocean," said Eddie Irizarry, scientific disseminator of the SAC.

The asteroid in the movie Don't Look Up was nowhere close to the small size of the asteroid over Puerto Rico. The PR meteor would have caused local damage if it stuck on the island and likely many casualties as a result. But would not have been a planet-killing strike.
h/t to Satya1 — The impactor in the movie was a comet.
