Is it taboo to write on how the press is going out of its way to humiliate the Vice President?

I'm getting pissed off at how the press has been particularly harsh on Vice President Kamala Harris. Maybe, I'm sensitive, and I acknowledge there is a right-wing bias in media despite the myth that the 4th estate tilts liberal. I know, what a crock.

I don't see much discussion on how this woman is always a target of abuse from the press, feeding a narrative such as her staff despises her; the west wing does not like her, and on and on. Hillary and other bright and well-qualified women have been targeted by friends and foe alike. What's up with that?

I am out of my comfort zone in posting this diary. I don't see many stories of the vicious attacks on her here. Since I'm angry, I'm going to vent and see if the community sees what I'm seeing or scream in all caps to take it down.

What I saw when Craig Melvin had a one-on-one interview with her, I was stunned. Disgusted and angry and appalled actually because I've always liked Melvin. But wow, he ambushed her at the end of the interview, not once but several times.

Melvin pondered whether Kamala would be kicked off the ticket in 2024. He began, "Are we going to see the same Democratic ticket in 2024?"

From MSNBC:

Apparently stunned, Harris blinked silently several times, and replied “I’m sorry, we are thinking about today.”

“I mean, honestly, I know why you’re asking the question because this is the part of the punditry and the gossip around places like Washington, D.C.,” the VP said, and reiterated, “Let me just tell you something. We’re focused on the things in front of us. We’re focused on what we need to do to address issues like affordable child care–”

“So there have been no conversations about 2024,” Melvin interrupted.

With another stunned pause, Harris replied, “The American people sent us here to do a job. And right now, there’s a lot of work to be done, and that’s my focus. Sincerely.”

Melvin persisted, telling the veep, “It sounds like clearly you’re at least familiar with some of the punditry. I don’t know if you’ve heard that there have been some, there’s been some talk about a Biden/Cheney ticket, perhaps, in 2024.”

A Biden/Cheney ticket? Get the fuck out of here, Craig.

“Did you read that article?” he asked, referring to a much-derided column suggesting the pairing.

“I did not,” replied a clearly unamused Harris. “No, I did not. And I really could care less about the high-class gossip on these issues.”

The 2024 questions were asked and begin at 5:40. Reporters and political pundits marvel at her unimpressive poll numbers at this point. Geez, I wonder why that is?

The other questions I felt were fair and informative. Too bad Kamala cannot point to Sinema, Manchin, and the GOP (Now the Supreme Court decision to declare they know better than the CDC) blocking the Biden BBB plan resulting in all of the maladies that Melvin asks her.

It's important to note that Joe Biden has her back. I don't go looking for stories on how Kamala is covered in the press; I focus on climate change, as you know. These types of stories are all over social media. I can't avoid seeing them. It appears to me that this onslaught on facts and realities is part of the storyline in Don't Look Up. I'm demoralized AF. The lunatics are in charge of the asylum.

I failed to realize that Laura Clawson had already written on this interview; I guess it isn’t taboo after all. Apologies
