This is dated and although it might have surfaced as a comment or even a diary at some point, I was unable to locate anything on Daily Kos under a search for Emily Maitlis. It was a busy time, after all, this site was in full election mode.
I am confident that I am not alone in seething that these retiring/fired Cabinet Secretaries, for example, John Kelly and Ryan Zinke will be able to sing their swan songs on their terms, make a whole bunch of money with only minimal pushback from journalists.
But when they write their books and go on the talk shows selling their lies and half-truths, journalism should follow the below BBC journalists example and insist that truth and accuracy matter. These people implemented some of the most heinous acts imaginable. This fact must not ever be forgotten or forgiven.
