"Some people have a stereotype of someone who has to make this kind of choice, but Hadley is in everybody's household. She's everybody's daughter. She's everybody's niece. She's everybody's sister. Jennifer Adkins Miller, mother of Hadley Duvall. h/t WP

In response to Meteor Blades's recommended diary, How about a diary on the nightmare Project 2025 for each one on Biden dropping or not dropping out? This is my contribution to countering the noise of Biden dropping out nonsense that continues to this day in most media.

Even after the raucous Detroit rally where Biden declared Game On by blistering Trump and Project 2025, that should have ended it, but they have not stopped. No more oxygen to the naysayers. The base of the Democratic base will win this in November when we get to work and ensure it happens.

The Democratic Party is not without powerful weapons to destroy Republicans down ballet while at the same time making the case for the President's re-election. After two weeks of despair, Hadley’s story and determined action for revenge for what the GOP has done to abortion care in this country will make us feel better about victory in the Fall.

We are not alone and have many arrows in our quiver. One of those is a twenty-two-year-old Kentucky woman who was pregnant at age 12 after being raped by her stepfather. She is strong and unafraid.

Marina Johnson writes in the Courier-Journal:

Hadley Duvall, a Kentucky native, is sharing her story with the world and advocating for reproductive and abortion rights as part of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris' re-election campaign.

The 22-year-old, originally from Owensboro, first gained national attention when appearing in a video for Gov. Andy Beshear's re-election campaign last fall, but shared her story publicly amidst the overturn of Roe v. Wade in 2022 with strict abortion bans in Kentucky.

Shortly after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June of 2022, Duvall, of Owensboro, Kentucky, shared her story with the world. According to a post on Instagram, Duvall became pregnant at age 12 after being raped by her stepfather. She experienced a decade of abuse from him and wrote she was "lucky this only happened once," referring to her pregnancy and miscarriage.

Democratic Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky soundly defeated MAGA challenger Daniel Cameron and credited Hadley for his 2022 victory in the ruby-red state. Democratic operatives have taken notice.

From the Washington Post:

Since Roe fell, voters have overwhelmingly backed abortion rights in each of the seven states where the issue has appeared directly on the ballot, including in conservative Kentucky, Kansas and, most recently, Ohio.

Democrats have had relatively less success translating voters’ frustrations over abortion bans into races that could oust the politicians responsible for them, or prevent the election of other antiabortion leaders. In Texas, Georgia and Florida, for example, governors who signed abortion bans were reelected by wide margins in 2022, suggesting that voters aren’t necessarily tying antiabortion policies to individual candidates, or aren’t prioritizing the issue when deciding which candidate to support.

Duvall made that connection abundantly clear for Kentucky voters last month. Her ad, viewed online over 3 million times, sparked concerned discussions within the Republican Party, with top national leaders acknowledging the critical role Duvall played in Beshear’s reelection.

“Go look at the ad ran against Daniel Cameron in Kentucky of the young woman who was raped when she was 12 years old by her father,” Ronna McDaniel, chair of the Republican National Committee, said on a recent podcast. The ad clearly contributed to Beshear’s win, McDaniel said, “because we won everything else down ticket in Kentucky.”

Hadley has already campaigned for the Biden-Harris on abortion and reproductive rights. Separate ads targeting Rick Scott, Ted Cruz, and other pro-death Senators can help ensure that Roe vs Wade becomes the law of the land again.

We desperately need to elect a Democratic Senate. You know what to do.
